Rotary : Weekly Rotary Minute 20091210
So the Holidays are indeed here. if you haven't caught the 'spirit' yet after tomorrow's meeting you surely will.
** Kawameeh Choir **
The "World Famous" Kawameeh choir will pay us their annual visit to perform their holiday songs and bring us lots of good cheer as we celebrate the season. Please make every effort to attend given that December is a short month with no meetings on 24th and 31st.
** Gift Exchange **
Next item, December 17th is our gift exchange date. This is the day that we all bring in 2 (at least) or more gifts to exchange/share. Approximate total value should be $15.00 - $20.00 price range. Charlie is the master of ceremonies for this event. He runs a tight exchange...towards the end things get very interesting.
As noted before in an earlier email one of the main focal points of this date is to show our appreciation to the suburban staff for the excellent service we receive during the year.
So lets start working on those gifts.
** SANTA IN BLUE **
Just a reminder to everyone that the Santa in Blue program is now collecting toys for needy kids. Eileen will be glad to take any donated toys back to the municipal building with her if anyone brings a toy to the meeting Thursday. Any toys, gifts that you can spare will certainly bring a smile to a child's this season. Please don’t forget the older children.
Finally please don't forget the district governor's visit on January 7th.
Please plan on being there, no excuses. Union is a force in district, lets show it.
Also plan to invite a friend/prospective member to this meeting.
We should have the governor go back to the district with only positive things to share about his impressive trip to Union.
See everyone tomorrow.
